The first Kindle tablet, the Kindle Fire, was released just a few weeks ago. Curious to see how it holds up to the hype, I took a look at the reviews on Amazon and was amazed at just how many people have already scooped up this new gadget.
In just a few short weeks, Kindle Fire has garnered more than 3,000 reviews, with the majority of them overwhelmingly positive. In fact, the Kindle Fire has an average rating of 4-stars, which is pretty good considering the volume of buyers so far. In addition to user reviews, big names like CNET are giving positive reviews, saying its screen quality is “exceptional for the price”.
So just what is it about Kindle Fire that new users are so appreciative of? The most commonly-cited reasons for loving the Fire are:
- Affordability – at just $199, it is one of the better-priced tablets on the market.
- Connection speed – users are very happy with how the Wi-Fi performs.
- Display – calling it “nothing short of fabulous”, one reviewer raved about the rich colors and clarity.
- Browser – Amazon’s own browser, Silk, is said to be faster and smoother for Internet surfing.
One reviewer compared it to iPad and the HP Touchpad, both of which this reviewer owns, and says the Fire is the best for entertainment activities.
Overall, the response has been very positive for Kindle Fire, and judging by the many 5-star reviews, I would say it is living up to the hype quite well. Hopefully Santa comes to visit this house with a shiny new Kindle Fire this year.
