Okay, I have a rant today, and I’m sure many of you have faced the same problem I am facing. I have major cord overload. You don’t realize how many gadgets you have until you try to organize all the cords to charge said gadgets. In our case, we have a drawer completely full of cords, and several of the more frequently used cords are stationed near plugins for easy access. They add up to a lot of cords.
The end that goes into the outlet is universal, at least in our country, so why can’t manufacturers do the same with the other end? I know it’s all about profit, and they make quite a bit of money on those cords, but could they, just for once, consider end user convenience over padded wallets?
Just a few years ago, I could get by with one or two cords so it wasn’t much of an issue. Now that we have smart phones, e-readers, laptops, MP3 players and all those other gadgets, having a different cord for each one is a logistical nightmare.
If one major electronics manufacturer decided to hear my plea and begin making all of their cords universal, they would get my business for life. I promise.
Is it really so much to ask that we could have a single power cord to charge all of our gadgets? Or at the very least, a single cord to charge one class of gadgets such as cell phones, laptops, etc. I am beginning to see why people are still choosing battery-powered gadgets.
