Being very frugal and a gadget junkie is an awful combination.  There are so many cool gadgets to get, but when you can’t stand spending money, all you can do is look and want.  For instance, I would love a Kindle Fire, but I already have a Kindle that works perfectly well, so how can I justify getting another one?  That being said, I can see myself caving and splurging on some form of technology this year.  Here are just a few of the things I would get if I could talk my frugal alter ego into it.

Kindle Fire
As I have mentioned, I would love a Kindle Fire.  I want the color screen and the ability to enjoy apps, videos and other features not available on standard Kindles.  Plus, the cool factor just can’t be beat.  I doubt I will end up getting this one, because it just isn’t practical enough to warrant the expense for me just yet.

New Android Phone
I don’t know which one I would get, but my current phone is starting to get cranky.  This is one of those gadgets I cannot live without, so I am setting aside enough money to buy a new one.  We don’t go with the regular carriers so I have to front all the money for a new phone, but between the ability to take credit cards, read books and tether my laptop, this is one gadget I won’t live without.

New Laptop
My laptop is my livelihood.  If I don’t work, we don’t have income, so this is another must-have.  My current one is only a year old, but it gets so much use that the keys are wearing out and I find myself getting shiny new object syndrome.  Besides, who doesn’t love the new computer smell?  It’s the best part of opening the box for the first time!
